Our Mission

The mission of this website, and the team behind it is to provide financial support for Wesley Chapman’s education and to help replace the income that Chase would have earned had he not been killed by a drunk driver.

We will accomplish our mission by fund raising online and creating fun, charitable events in the Atlanta area where friends, family, and the general public can participate through generous giving.

Community College, University, or Trade School

Our Vision

To create an endowment which will be used to grant scholarships to the children who have lost one or both parents by accidents with drunk drivers.

We will do this with God’s help, building a team of dedicated volunteers who are passionate about bringing focus to the terrible costs of drunk driving, and the good that can some from helping those devastated by tragic loss.

Our vehicle as we transition will be a 501(c)(3) organization, structured  and organized for very low costs and maximum benefit of the endowment.

Chase with His Son

Chase loved his son, Wesley, who was the most important thing in Chase’s life.

Chase and His Sister

Chase and Anna were close in age and very close as siblings.  They both loved Wesley.

Our Story

We are Carl and Julie Chapman, Chase’s parents. Julie and I have been married for more than 32 and a half years (as of Oct. 18th, 2017) and have been blessed to have had Chase (Carl E. Chapman Jr.) in our lives for almost 32 years.  We loved our son dearly and we love Wesley too.  We are dedicated to doing what we can, given our modest means, to help ensure that Wesley has all the opportunity he wants for a quality education that will lead to a productive and happy live.

Our secondary mission is to raise awareness of the devastation that drunk driving can cause to everyone involved in the accident, from victim, to families, to friends, as well as how horrible an effect it can have on the at-fault driver who many times walks away unharmed.

This is special to me, as my mother was killed by a drunk driver about 34 years before Chase was killed by a drunk driver.  In this day and age, with all the options, there is no reason for anyone to get behind the wheel drunk.  Both my mother’s and Chase’s killers walked away from the accidents unharmed.  At least without physical effects from the twisted metal and broken glass.  I don’t know much about my mother’s killer, except that he got off lightly in the criminal justice system.  Chase’s killer’s trials are upcoming.  As sincerely as we can, Julie and I both ask you to NEVER drive while under the influence.
